Almost 10 years ago in a class on money manifesting, I gave my students an exercise that turned out to be one of the most impactful I’ve ever taught.
The reactions were priceless, and unforgettable…
Joy-filled OMGs. Overwhelming happiness. Tears of gratitude.
10 minutes previous, I had been coaching the same women through “How is THAT going to happen?” and “It’s just not possible for me.”
Now they were grounded in their power and ready to manifest money like mofos.
What changed?
The Knee-Jerk Reaction of Your Brain (When It Comes to Big Money Goals)
Before I share the exercise, let’s talk about the one thing that your brain is doing right now that has been derailing your money goals over and over and over again…
You secretly believe it’s NOT possible, or that it’s NOT going to happen.
And before you start arguing with me….
I get it. 🙂
This is not your first rodeo with manifesting or money.
You know that it’s totally possible to do things like put 20 people in a $15k program, sign up a $50k client or add $100k to your income in a very short period of time.
And yet…!
Your brain still wants to see the receipts. 😉
Big goals create pressure. The minute you choose the $30k program, $50k month, the $100k launch, or whatever it is… all of a sudden, the stakes get high.
What if it doesn’t work?
What if I can’t figure it out?
What if I can’t make it happen?
What if I fail?
And behold, what started as Desire has become a referendum on you.
Your brain wants evidence. It starts hunting around for said evidence.
Unfortunately, when you’re already activated around the goal, it tends to become VERY interested in evidence that it might go all wrong.
Suddenly your brain has become a highly efficient problem detector instead of an opportunity detector.
And then the goal becomes responsible for your feelings.
You’ll relax if the sales come in.
You’ll believe when someone pays you.
You’ll be confident when you can SEE the money.
Meanwhile… 😎
Money doesn’t give a shit about your feelings!
Money loves speed and certainty.
Money is magnetized to the calm, cool energy of I choose this and it’s already done.
When you embody THAT, calling in bigger amounts of cash and hitting your bigger money goals on repeat is simple.
So how do you do that when your brain is busy handing you 47 reasons it isn’t going to happen?
Give Your Brain Some Damn Proof
Evidence.
Your brain is constantly using what has already happened to make predictions about what happens next.
This is one of the reasons that simply telling yourself, “I’m going to make $100k this month!” can get the ‘ol dopamine flowing… while making every cell in your body go, “lol – NOPE” … at the same time.
There’s a gap between what you declare, and what your brain currently has filed under “Things That Can Happen For Me.”
So give it better evidence.
NOT… “I see myself with a millyun dollars.”
NOT… pretending that the $100k is already in your bank account when your brain knows dang well it’s not.
Actual evidence.
Proof.
When you deliberately put your attention on evidence that contradicts the automatic “this is impossible” story, you give your brain something new to work with. You remind it that its current prediction is not the ONLY possibility available.
Which brings me to the exercise…
Add Up All the Money
Add up all the money that has flowed to you in your life.
Yes, really. Think about your life for a moment. Maybe do a little reverse-timeline in your head.
Then get out a pencil and add up all the money.
I like to start with working life. When did you first begin exchanging energy – either yours or energy created in a business – for real dollars?
If you want to keep it simpler, you can start whenever you finished all of your schooling – i.e. your early or mid-twenties, after college or grad school, if you attended.
If you really want to blow your mind, start when you were a child, with your parents’ income. (THEIR money was also money that was in YOUR life.)
Don’t overthink it. Just choose some parameters that make sense.
Estimate when you need to. Err on the side of being conservative. Use tax returns when you have them. (Hunt them all up! It’s fun!)
Stay honest, but don’t sweat the small stuff.
No matter how you do this, you will find that number to be substantial.
And that’s why so many of my clients in my program all those years ago were quickly beside themselves with emotion.
The Truth About That Number
You did that.
Yes, even if it was your husband’s income, or your parents’ income.
Even if you paid out a ton of expenses. (Making money and keeping money are two different things. Both are impressive.)
Even if your finances are a mess or you’re in debt up to your eyeballs.
You attracted that money into your life.
You outright created a good portion of it.
Why does that matter?
Because it’s evidence.
Proof.
Proof that you are abundant. Proof that money shows up for you. Proof that you can make large sums of money. Proof that you did it before.
Because if you did it once already…
You can do it again.
Faster. With fewer expenses. With more ease and less strife. On repeat. And without asking for permission or healing every last block first.
See?
Of course you’re already a money master. Of course.
Let that sink in.
I Needed the Reminder Too
Confession time…
I remembered this exercise because the past few months have been rough.
I’ve had a couple of big pivots in my business. Where I tear everything down and rebuild again from scratch.
As someone with ADHD, I have to watch out for this kind of thing. Entrepreneurs are notorious for engineering their dopamine fixes and running on adrenaline. For me, it’s worse. There’s no spike quite like the dose of money drama that comes from a rebuild.
The problem is, rebuilds are expensive. And at this stage in my game – well into middle-age with a 13-year-old who actually wants to spend time with me and a husband of 22 years – I’m not willing to do the things that “pull money out of my butt” magic requires.
It’s been rough. And then I remembered…
Woman, add up all the money.
So, I got out our tax returns, and added it up.
The number floored me.
$12 million and change. The overwhelming majority of which was made by me. (I was the sole breadwinner for 14 of the 17 years I’ve been in biz, making real money.)
Now, that’s NOT Hormozi money.
But… good golly, it’s not bad for a woman on the internet running group mentoring programs over Zoom.
Then, I did something really wild.
I multiplied 17 – “real money” years in biz – by 12 – months in a year.
204 months.
$12m divided by 204 is… an average monthly income of 58,823.
We’ll round down. $58k. Per month. For seventeen years.
Holy shizzballs.
No, that’s not my take-home. Yes, there are expenses – a lot of them. Yes, taxes.
Still.
I created that. And while part of me wants to fuss and whine that it’s not “more”…
There is just no way I can be sad about it.
Because if I did it once…
I can do it faster. With fewer expenses.
Now. THIS rebuild. On repeat.
It’s just proof.
And that is what I want you to take away from this.
Pattern, Meet Interrupt.
To make leaps in your income, you must interrupt the lies your brain feeds you on autopilot.
Best way to do that?
Evidence.
When your brain says, “There’s no way I can create that much money,” go find the proof that you can.
When it says, “Nobody is going to buy this,” go find the proof that they will.
When it says, “I don’t know where the money is going to come from,” align with the TRUTH that the Law of Polarity tells us: that the money is here, it’s as close as your breath, and that HAS to be so. Because the Law.
And when it tells you that you have absolutely no business choosing the number you just chose…
Add up all the money.
Look at the number.
Really look at it.
Because you are NOT trying to manufacture certainty out of thin air.
You are reminding yourself of what you have already demonstrated, and what is already true, by Law.
Then hold THAT evidence out in front of you while you act.
Look for the opportunities you could not see while you were busy looking for all the reasons it wasn’t going to work.
You have already created far more than your brain remembers when it’s scared.
Now you have the receipts.
What are you going to create next?
Love & magic,
Elizabeth

This landed in my inbox at the exact right time , of course. As all things do. Great exercise. Can’t wait to do this . Thank
You
This is SUCH a great exercise, thank you! I haven't even done the whole thing, and started adding in my head. The number floored me. I love thinking about it this way!
